K.L.E. since 1916 – 97 Years of Selfless Service
It was in the year 1916, a humble effort and modest beginning made by seven dedicated teachers to provide basic education to the economically and educationally deprived knowledge seeker that transformed itself into the establishment of the now globally known K.L.E. Society. These noble souls are worshipfully reversed by KLE family as the ‘SAPTARSHIS’. Since then, unremittingly the Society has been performing a tireless mission in the academic and socio-economic upliftment of the people of North Karnataka region. The century long saga has proven track records of many historical and illustrious milestones. The year 2016 is to be written in golden letters that, when will be celebrating 100 years of Society’s momentous fruitful functioning as an ICON of the academic world. K.L.E. Society is imparting education from KG to PG to Research. Now the horizon has widened with expansion of institutions at international level too.
At present with as many as 250 high profile and quality conscious institutions and 16,000 dedicated faculty our Society caters to the needs of nearly 1.25 lakh students. The courses offered cover pre-schooling, primary and secondary education, Basic & Social Sciences, Business Administration, Agricultural Sciences, Tourism, Hotel Management, Engineering & Technology, Nursing, Pharmacy, Dental & Medical Sciences, Indian systems of medicine Health Care, Teacher training & many others. The Society has reputable alliances with prestigious international research institutions of UK, USA, Malaysia, China and Zimbabwe, apart from many national institutes of great repute. Another milestone in the hollowed path of growth of the society is that the medical and health science institutes have been brought under the domain of KLE University, which is accredited at ‘A’ level by NAAC and recoginsed as centre of excellence by MHRD. Under the umbrella of K.L.E. University Basic Science research institute, school of Music, Paramedical courses, KLE Venudhwani [FM Community Radio Station], etc., are meaningfully functioning 2400 beds-multi specialty hospital and research centre & 600 beds charitable hospital of our Society cater to the healthcare needs of the people of the country especially poor people to whom medical services, medicine and food are provided free of cost.
The K.L.E. Society is proud to launch the KLE Technological University during this academic year 2015-16, on the campus of the legend of Engineering and Technology education, BVB College, Hubli.
The pride of K.L.E. Society, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College celebrated its Golden Jubilee in the year 2013. Honourable Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modiji was the Chief Guest on concluding ceremony of golden jubilee celebrations of the college. The efforts of K.L.E. Society in quenching the thirst of education of the learners was appreciated by former Prime Ministers Late Shri Rajeev Gandhi, Late Shri P. V. Narasimharao and former presidents of India Late Shri Gyani Jailsingh and Late Shri A.P.J. Abdul Kalam during their visits to K.L.E. Society on different occasions.
